CELEBRATING 15 YEARS
VLP is 15! Reaching this milestone is no small feat for any organization, and we initially faced long odds. A law firm without walls was incredibly cutting edge for our notoriously conservative industry, and our visionary founder Craig Johnson passed away suddenly just a year into our existence, creating an existential moment for the firm.
When I joined VLP just over 10 years ago, we were well clear of that early crisis and I was blown away by the uncompromising quality of both the firm’s clients as well as my new colleagues. I felt I’d been mistakenly admitted into a secret club – the best place imaginable to practice law. I feel the same way today. We made it through those initial bumps in the road and we continue to thrive because of the exceptional people who have touched and continue to touch this special place.

As a fully-distributed law firm, we’ve always been mindful of our footprint, even as we’ve continued to grow. To celebrate this exciting milestone, we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to planting trees where they’re needed most – one tree at a time.
VLP has made a donation to plant 15,000 trees as our way of giving back, specifically contributing to ongoing projects in three main categories of critical need: Biodiversity, Forest Fire Recovery and Urban Forestry. We’re honored to be a part of positive change that benefits the environment, wildlife and communities far and wide.
